HARVEST of a mysterious underground delicacy has started on the Granite Belt. Lower temperatures across the region heralded the start of black truffle season which are commercially harvested near Stanthorpe. Owner of Stanthorpe-based Truffle Discovery Centre Matt Hibberd said the cold climate and regular morning frosts were ideal growing conditions .
